Match 6 League Results

The weather held up for yet another week; my 10AM “future radar” imagery guided me to correctly tell everybody to “play ball” … so my weather forecasting for the 2022 season remains unblemished. With that, the golf course is running a bit dry and it showed on the greens – firm and fast ruled the day.

If you haven’t checked the reports links (up top this week) I’ll give you the lowdown on near pin / skins: Larry Hull popped a fairway metal up onto the fourth green and no one else even measured after his 26′ 8″ effort – good for $36 … The $54 skins pool got divvied up 5 ways ($10.80 per skin). Lenny Millen had bookend birdies on BOTH par fours good for two skins and $21.60. Justin Callahan had the lone par on #3; Dan O’ had the only par on #5 … and “Cowboy” Mike Lor (skin winner EVERY week) had a birdie on #8 …

Before I post scorecards I want to wish Tony Tanner good luck and GET WELL SOON as he’ll be getting surgery next week – Tony has said he expects to be back in action for match 8 !!! … he also managed to post low net for match 6 … you go Tony!

Jamie/Chris leap back into 1st place by taking 6 of the first 7 holes
Justin/Zac managed to squeeze out enough hole wins, in spite of giving up quite a few strokes… a tough 9th hole cost Kenny/Ron quite a few points…
Ken vs Lenny was one heck of a golf match with Lenny pulling away on the 9th hole with a birdie (and a skin) … James vs Derek was a little more chaotic with an exchange of bad holes, back and forth that somehow resulted in James taking the match by one net stroke and 4W-3L-2tied. End result? The first ever 50-50 match result I can remember
The “Giant Killers” took down Mike/Jonathan on the strength of Tony’s week best 38 net 26 and former sandbagger of the year Lou’s five hole wins and one net stroke loss to Jonathan.
The defending champs made a big move up in the standings by going 7wins-0-2ties overall and winning 3 holes outright 8-0
Skip played Dan as close as could be but partner Drew “fell to earth” after his year’s best round last week… Dan continued playing super steady golf with no dreaded “others” and 5 bogies… Gary scored big points not so much based on his own round which still isn’t “Gary golf” but on Bill’s really bad day.
Mitch needed 3 tee shots on #1 and that cost him and the team strokes and points as Ryan played super steady golf other than a wobble on #3 when he popped his tee shot into the fescue on the fence line. Larry played net par golf but Russ topped him by 2 net strokes playing bogie/double bogie golf.
