2024 Men’s League Meeting #1

Two nice days in a row! Haven’t seen as many of you as expected… Reaching out to notify you of our first organizational meeting for this year’s men’s league. Wednesday, April 24:
We’ll discuss and vote by secret ballot:

1) it’s been suggested that we should abandon the “team AND individual” scoring system that has evolved over the past few years and return to the simpler “18 points per match” system used in the more distant past

2) I’ve built and will shortly cut in gold tee boxes for our “seasoned” citizen golfers. What age and/or handicap should be allowed to utilize these subtly shorter tees?

3) How many weeks should we play beyond our “everybody plays everybody once” schedule and should we continue scheduling these end of season matches as we have in the past few seasons?

4) Should we maintain the $80 league fee for the banquet costs and prize fund or should we raise or lower the fees? A smaller league results in a smaller overall prize pool…

5) Any other questions ? Reply to this email with your topics of conversation / questions for the meeting

We’ll call for the meeting to begin around 5PM and please do submit MGC scorecards so that we may update and/or create your league handicaps. Current handicaps utilize the best 3 of one’s last 5 scores to determine your handicap index. Our league utilizes a 90% handicap and MGC has a 29 rating with a slope of 87.
Looking forward to seeing many of you at our meeting… if you’ve not found a partner perhaps you’ll play with him at our meeting!
